The Province of Krabi is easily accessible and affordable to travellers by land, sea and air. More and more people around the world are taking short breaks as opposed to taking one or two long vacations in a year. One can now easily take a weekend getaway in Krabi and its surrounding regions to unwind. Krabi offers an exciting and memorable holiday where the ocean and tropical offshore islands become the favourite playground for all who made Krabi as their holiday destination and especially those visitors who made repeated trips annually.
The trends in traveling worldwide have changed over the years especially with many low cost carriers establishing and operating out from Krabi International Airport.
In 1983 the private sector and the Municipal Administrative Office, having had realized the high potential for tourism of Changwat Krabi had co-operated to construct a small airport on public land which was completed in 1986 serving the air transport by 18-seated aircraft of Sahakol Air company( now Bangkok Airway Co., Ltd.).
