<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>28 Aug ~ 1 Sep 2010,<br />
5 days 4 nights trip to Thailand,<br />
Krabi with Hsing ^^</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Hsing pay for the resort and airfare, I only pay for the expenses in Krabi. (Thought will not spend much there&#8230; &#8230; but at the end still spent over RM1k =.=&#8221;) Thank you Wei Kow for fetching us to Changi Airport <img src='http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' /> 3am, we departed to Wei Kow&#8217;s house, 3:40am we headed to Changi Airport as we needed to check in at 4:40am. But&#8230; &#8230; the flight was delayed!!! from the initial time of 6.40am to 7:35am =.=&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang001.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-10681" title="AoNang001" src="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang001.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="150" /></a><a href="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang003.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-10683" title="AoNang003" src="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang003.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="150" /></a><a href="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang002.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-10682" title="AoNang002" src="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang002.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="150" /></a></p>
<p><span id="more-10679"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Plenty of time but nothing to do in Changi budget terminal, luckily there is McD for our breakfast =.=&#8221; After almost 1.5hrs flying time, here we are, the Krabi in Thailand. Forgot to take picture of our pick up car. Peace Laguna prepared a luxury MPV to fetch us from airport to resort, not sure what car was that, the size is similar to Alphard. Spending another 30min, finally we reached our resort at Ao Nang. People here is really really nice and very polite.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang004.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-10684" title="AoNang004" src="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang004.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="150" /></a><a href="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang006.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-10686" title="AoNang006" src="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang006.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="150" /></a><a href="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang005.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-10685" title="AoNang005" src="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang005.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="150" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang007.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-10687" title="AoNang007" src="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang007.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="150" /></a><a href="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang010.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-10690" title="AoNang010" src="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang010.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="150" /></a><a href="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang008.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-10688" title="AoNang008" src="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang008.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="150" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Photos of our resort room which we spent 4 nights ^^ Nice and spacious</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">There is another outdoor bath shower, just besides the bathroom. We did not use it, as there is no hot water from this shower and &#8230; &#8230; full of algae on the water outflow hole &#8230; &#8230; =.=&#8221;  Time to go out for some breakfast and travel agent searching.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang011.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-10691" title="AoNang011" src="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang011.jpg" alt="" width="320" height="240" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Another photo on &#8220;Peace Laguna Resort&#8221; before departing ^^</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang012.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-10692" title="AoNang012" src="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang012.jpg" alt="" width="200" height="150" /></a>1st day breakfast and 1st meal in AoNang. Is was not easy to find nice Thai food in Ao Nang. There are more Italiana food than local Thai food, believe this is to cater to European tourists&#8217; taste. We have our breakfast in a restaurant serving both Italiana and local Thai food. We ordered Pad Thai, Tomyam soup and Thai fried rice. (they served the nicest pad thai I tried from this whole trip, but the fried rice was tastless =.=&#8221;)  We only spent little time searching for travel agent for our next few days activities. Actually they have plenty of travel agents on the street, just that we were lazy enquiring so many. As time was still early, we decided heading to the &#8220;big&#8221; shopping mall along the airport road, Tesco and Big C to buy &#8230;. &#8230;. Wacoal =.=&#8221; &#8230; &#8230; bra</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang013.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-10693" title="AoNang013" src="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang013.jpg" alt="" width="200" height="150" /></a>The transport charges here is terrible. The charges are super expensive when they know we are tourist. How do they know? As long as you can&#8217;t speak Thai &#8230; &#8230;  According to the Resort receptionist, we can take public transport to Tesco with only 60baht each. At the end, we spent 300baht for 2!!! The picture on the left is their commonly use public transport. It is even terrible when we returned from Big C (which is around 1km shorter distance than Tesco). We paid 400baht for 2 for a private car back. Same as hiring a taxi (they indicated the taxi fare on charges board, which I believe this rate is only applied for tourist!!!)</p>
<p><a href="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang014.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-10694" title="AoNang014" src="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang014.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="150" /></a><a href="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang016.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-10696" title="AoNang016" src="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang016.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="150" /></a><a href="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang015.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-10695" title="AoNang015" src="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang015.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="150" /></a><br />
The meal we took in Big C. Papaya salad and Pad Thai. The papaya salad is really nice!!! Just too spicy &gt;.&lt;  Oops, forgot to mention, we actually fail to find Wacoal in both the Tesco and Big C. But Hsing did bring back 2 sets of Wacoal ^^ (We found them in the Outlet Village which is near to Big C).  This is the dry bag I bought in Ao Nang. Cost me 450baht after some bargaining. This will be useful for our upcoming island hopping ^^</p>
<div><a href="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang017.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-10697" title="AoNang017" src="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang017.jpg" alt="" width="200" height="150" /></a><a href="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang018.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-10698" title="AoNang018" src="http://www.krabidiscovery.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/AoNang018.jpg" alt="" width="200" height="150" /></a>Dinner time. Fish, tom yam soup and salad at the Wannai Restaurant. The steam fish with lemon juice was nice, but the fish taste like over-cooked lolz.</div>
<div>Ok, time to rest&#8230; for tomorrow trip. Phi Phi Island ^^</div>

</span></span></strong><br />
</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #003366;"> <span style="color: #003366;">This is the second attempts by Tiger Airways to connect flights  from Changi Air  Hub </span></span><span style="color: #003366;">to Krabi.  Since its last operation in early 2008, Rosalynn Tay, Tiger Airways Singapore Managing Director said that they&#8217;ve received numerous requests to resume flights to Krabi. &#8220;I&#8217;m delighted to tell all Tiger customers that we have listened to their requests and are now able to add Krabi to our fast-growing network of exciting destinations&#8230;&#8221;</span><span style="color: #003366;"><span id="more-7163"></span><br />
As the first airline flying to one of Thailand&#8217;s most popular summer destinations from Singapore, Tiger Airways names Krabi as the fifth new destination launched in 2009, bringing our network to 37 routes across Asia Pacific. So what are you waiting for? Start preparing for the beach getaway of the year! and soak up the sun, sea, sand, and good vibes at Thailand&#8217;s island paradise!</span><span style="color: #003366;"><br />
Krabi will receive four Tiger Air Boeing 737 flights a week direct from Singapore from October 25 as the province gears up for high season. Bookings for December-February were running at about 60 percent, said Itirid Kingkawe, President of the Tourist Association of Krabi. He anticipated the rate would rise to 80 percent. &#8221;Most of our customers are from Scandinavia or other parts of Europe,&#8221; he said. &#8221;We are hoping the Singapore flights will broaden the market for Krabi.&#8221; Long-haul flights have suffered generally, Khun Itirid added, with many destinations trying to encourage more travel within the region. &#8221;Guests from Europe are also not staying as long,&#8221; he said. &#8221;Once, people would come for three months. These days their visits are shorter and they are spending less money.&#8221; Krabi has 15,000 rooms and its appeal, a mixture of nature and quality accommodation, is similar to that of its neighbor, Phang Nga. Prime attractions are Ao Nang, the departure point for more remote destinations that sometimes can only be reached by water. Phi Phi, Lanta and Phuket are all popular excursions from Krabi. Environmental issues continued to grow, along with the number of tourists, on Phi Phi especially, he said. Krabi would recover, along with the world&#8217;s economy. &#8221;It&#8217;s a long way to Bangkok and the problems of the deep south from here,&#8221; he said.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #003366;"><strong>Flight Schedule</strong> : Tiger Air Boeing 737 flights will resume flights to Krabi four times a week from October 25 2009 onwards. (Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Sunday).<br />
<strong>Departing from Singapore, Flight TR 182</strong> at 14.10 pm. local time, Arriving in Krabi at 14.50 pm. local time.<strong><br />

<p style="text-align: justify;">THOSE looking to scratch the itch to travel will be glad to know that Changi Airport will offer more flights out and new destinations in the coming months. Jetstar Asia, for instance, is embarking on its most aggressive expansion programme yet. It has announced plans to add three more aircraft to its current fleet of seven planes in the next 12 months. The airline will welcome its eighth aircraft in December, which will fly twice daily to Phuket in Thailand from Dec 15. Another two jets will come by May. Jetstar, which now flies seven times a week to Manila, will also bump this up to 10 services from Oct 25. <span style="color: #ff0000;">To mark the launch of its Singapore-Phuket service, the airline will offer a limited number of one-way tickets at $8 for selected travel dates from January to May. With taxes and other charges included, the return fare will be about $120. Online bookings can be made between 9am and 8pm on Thursday.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #0000ff;"><span id="more-5948"></span> </span>Its rival Tiger Airways is also planning to raise its number of flights out of Singapore, as is Indonesian carrier Garuda. All this bodes well for Changi Airport, now served by 86 carriers operating more than 4,780 flights to-and-fro weekly, and also for the travel industry. Both were hit by the global recession and more recently, the H1N1 flu virus. With signs that the financial crisis could be bottoming out and the public is now less worried about the flu, the industry is hoping for a business upturn. Even low-cost carriers like Jetstar and Tiger have been hit in their takings because of market pressure to lower fares, despite having attracted travellers ditching full-service airlines and those going for cheaper regional getaways. Jetstar&#8217;s chief executive officer Chong Phit Lian told The Straits Times: &#8216;In the end though, it is the consumer who benefits and that is a good thing.&#8217; News of the extra flights and comes in the run-up to the bargains galore at the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore (Natas) fair from Aug 28 to 30. Holidays 2009, to be held at the Singapore Expo, will feature 1,000 booths and 165 exhibitors over 20,000 sq m of space &#8211; about the same scale as last year&#8217;s event. Natas chief executive officer Robert Khoo said the flu pandemic had done its bit to make Singaporeans drop or delay their travel plans in the last few months, so he expected &#8216;pent-up demand&#8217; for travel at the coming fair.</p>
