Long Ride Home to Kuala Lumpur.

Room with a view.

I should point out here that I refer to Kuala Lumpur as home. That is not to scare anyone into thinking I’m staying but more reflects how comfortable Norm and Lory have made me feel here. I know the trip would not be the same without their kind hospitality and I will fondly remember my many days in KL…especially The Neil Diamond tape that always seems to get played in their little Proton(Malaysian car). Me listening and really enjoying Neil Diamond…who’d a thought? Anyways, I am humbled by their generosity and at odds as to how I could ‘return their investment’ in me. I guess for starters I could try to keep my room a little neater . J

Back to the update!

Coolest climb ever.

Coolest climb ever.

My bus ‘adventures’: The first a marathon conversation with Matilda from Sweden, the next another marathon conversation with Jessica from England, and Belinda from Australia. I would eventually hang out a couple days with Belinda. What is it with me and these cool chicks I meet on busses? The conversation with Jessica and Belinda was intense yet humorous as they had both had some recent scary “solo female traveller” experiences. It made me realize just how different it is for a woman to be travelling alone…a whole different trip altogether.

Bus ride hit a bit of a glitch at Penang but nothing major. That evening I was back in KL…home! Ended up staying a night in a hostel in Chinatown because it was too late to go to Norm and Lory’s. But I was home and ready(?) for the next adventure: a month travelling and hanging out with my relatives…which I will save for the next update!!!
