Getting To Krabi

By Air
Krabi International Airport is easily accessible to tourists from different parts of the world, one can arrange connecting flights within transitional points from the hub cities of Bangkok, Phuket and Kuala Lumpur. For example, one can fly in to Krabi from Singapore or Australia through Kuala Lumpur on Air Asia. Another example, those coming in from  Singapore, can fly in by Singapore-Bangkok-Krabi or direct flights to Phuket and continue the journey by land or ferry services.

The airport is conveniently located 40 kms away from Ao Nang and 13 kms from Krabi Town. The terminal has an area of 10,593 square meters and caters to a maximum of 1,200 passengers. It offers facilities like banks, restaurants, car rental agencies and taxi services.
There is an aircondition Airport Bus service started in 2007, with operating fares to Krabi (100 Baht) and to Ao Nang (150 Baht). The service picks up and drops visitors along the scheduled travel routes where the guest house and hotels are located, meets all incoming flights and serves most outgoing flights.
A songthaew to Krabi Town is available from the mainroad outside the airport terminal and as in the case for departing visitors to the airport, they will drop you right at the departure terminal. Motorcycle taxi rides are easily available outside the terminal.
The international departure tax surcharge is around 500 Baht while domestic departure tax is included in the cost of the flight.
Krabi is also easily served and connected by highways from two nearby airports such as Trang Domestic Airport and Phuket International Airports.

Domestic Flights From Bangkok

Domestic Flights From Koh Samui —— Bangkok Airways fly direct from Samui Airport to Krabi 3 times a week. ( Tue, Thu, Sat )
International Flights —— Such as these Links :- Tiger Airway fly direct from Singapore to Krabi daily during high season . Air Asia direct from Kuala Lumpur to Krabi 3 times a week (2,4,6) Air Finland fly direct from Finland to Krabi every Wednesday and Friday. Nova Air fly direct from Sweden to Krabi every Wednesday.

By Train
From Bangkok——There is no direct train service to Krabi. But it is possible to take a train from Bangkok to Trang or  Suratthani (multiple schedules) and then take a bus or taxi to Krabi. The journey by local bus from Suratthani to Krabi takes about 3 hours; Trang to Krabi takes about 2 hours.
Rapid and express trains depart from Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lumpong) for Trang Railway Station daily, takes about 15 hours for the 870 kilometres journey. There are 2 trains to Trang daily as followed:

1.Express train from
+Bangkok to Trang at 5.05 P.M -09.40 A.M.
+Trang to Bangkok at 5.20 P.M.-10.30 A.M.

2.Rapid train from
+Bangkok to Kantang 6.20 P.M.- 12.10 P.M.
+ Kantang to Bangkok at 3.00 P.M. – 09.00 A.M.

By Train From Malaysia And Singapore
There is a regular train service departing from Singapore passing through
Johore, Kuala Lumpur and ends up at the Thai border town of Hatyai. There are buses leaving  for Krabi at the Hatyai  Bus Station daily; the journey takes about 5 hours or  you can also reach Krabi by mini-van that runs from travel agencies which that takes 4.5 hours.

By Bus
Krabi Bus Station is situated about 4 kms from Town. Overnight local buses from Krabi to Bangkok leave directly between 4 pm and 5 pm. Tickets are available on a first come first serve basis at the bus station or an office in Town Centre opposite the night market. It is also convenient to get from Krabi to Phuket, Phang Nga, Ranong, Surat Thani, Trang, Pattalung and Hatyai by second or third class buses. There are several departures during the day.
From Bangkok——There are various types of air-conditioned bus services leaving from Southern Bus Terminal daily, such as ordinary bus, 1st and 2nd class air-conditioned bus  and 24 seat VIP bus.The journey takes about 12 hours.
From Phuket——There are buses leaving from Phuket Bus Terminal daily every hour. The journey takes about 3 hours to reach Krabi.
From Malaysia—— When you reach the border Town of Hatyai, there are buses leaving Hatyai  Bus Terminal daily; the journey takes about 5 hours to reach Krabi or  you can reach Krabi by mini-van that runs from travel agencies that takes 4.5 hours..

Ferry Services
Are available from Krabi Town and Ao Nang Beach to the off-shore islands such as Koh Phi Phi, Koh Jum, Koh Lanta, Koh Yao Noi and Phuket. You can also re-connect from Koh Lanta to Koh Ngai, Koh Mook, Koh Lipeh and Langkawi.
