Sunset at Aonang, Krabi, Thailand.

Posted By : Wilson and Rachel

A short Sunday post. My last December trip to Krabi with my friends was a memorable one. Though the company was good, but the scenery was better. Let me explain also why we picked to stay in Aonang instead of Krabi town. Before the trip, I tried to look for images of Aonang of Krabi, nothing much was found. So then, during the trip I took quite a number of Aonang of Krabi to show it here on my blog. Aonang  is a popular hot spot and its only minutes away from the airport. The main road is usually packed with stalls and shops selling from clothes to diving equipments. Not forgetting as well the local tour booths and a variety of restaurants and cafe of different countries.

Road Trip – Krabi, Thailand.

Posted By : Ina Mohd

Destination – Krabi, Thailand.  Distance to destination – 850Km. Departure point – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  Total cars in convoy – 4.  Stopover – overnight at Hat Yai, Thailand.
It was a 5-day trip.  4 of them were spent on the road.  That leaves us with only one full day to enjoy Krabi.  11 of my family members occupied 2 cars, while 2 of our friends in the other 2 with their families.  The journey to Hat Yai itself was an 8 hour drive.  Thank god I’m wasn’t driving!  …or so I thought.  My dad had fever on that day so I took over the wheel.  Poor thing was coughing nastily throughout the whole drive.
We stayed at the beautiful AoNang Villa Resort.  Gosh.  Felt like I was in one of those Travel Channel show reviewing hotels (think Samantha Brown’s Passport to …Asia?).

I finally went to Krabi, ya’ll!! I’ve been waiting for like 6 months for this trip and let me scream this straight to your face: Unpleasant things happened before i left on the AirAsia plane (like failing to locate where i put my money, a sudden request from a certain boss for a presentation, a troublesome house contractor..). i swear these people are jealous of me leaving for the fun, sun, and sand. Alhamdulillah i managed in the end. *big smile* Now, let’s skip the babbling and more details on the trip. i’m ready to be your tour guide.

Krabi Day Three – Island Safari.

Posted By : LiZ in Oz!!

Day 3 was pretty relaxing as well… i didnt get a chance to do my bungee jump again!!! anw day 3 was spent rafting and elephant riding at island safari….

our pix taken after the rafting... no chance to take pix during rafting...

our elephant riding... the tour guide helped us to take a series of pix and charged us $200THB!!! but the thing is that out of 20 pix he took, mebbe only 4 or 5 of them are clear... see below for the "blur" pix....

and besides elephant riding, they have ox-cart as well... and similarly the "driver" offered to take pix for us... this time round, being smarter, we kindly rejected his offer.... no free lunches in the world!!!

and after the rides, there were some elephant shows...

us with the baby elephant... somehow i jus like elephants.... my fav cartoon would be dumbo.... can relate to the big flappy ears?!?!

With several beaches and surrounding islands to explore, Krabi is a diverse and fascinating place, rich in culture, dining, shopping, nightlife, and sporting activities. Among the many places to visit in Krabi is Ban Laem Pho especially if you are interested in geological history. Ban Laem Pho was once a large freshwater swamp and home to a particular breed of snail dating back to the Tertiary Age approximately 40 million years ago when they lived and died by the million, forming layers upon layers whereby the living existed. Slowly but surely, changes in the weather precipitated the swamps’ disappearance leaving behind layers of fossilized snail shells of forty centimeters thick resting on ten centimeters of the subsoil lignite.
